You can see the type of an assignment under the "Type" section which is located on the right side of the name of the assignment.

In Gradarius, there are four types of assignments. Below we describe the default settings for these type of assignments.

Practice

The default settings are set up as the following:

  •  Mode is “Tutor” (for details see "Feedback mode")

  •  Exercise grading scheme is “Normalized sum”

  •  Grading scheme for multiple submissions is “Highest Score”

  • Allow reference solution review is "After one submission"

If the settings are not changed by the instructor, in “Practice” type assignments you are allowed to revisit problems after deadline, and you are able to see the score of each exercises immediately after submitting.

Guided Tutorial

“Guided tutorial type” assignments are automatically set in “Guided tutor” (for details see below) mode. The default settings are set up as the following:

  • Exercise grading scheme is “Normalized sum”

  • Grading scheme for multiple submissions is “Highest Score”

  • Allow reference solution review is "Always"

If the settings are not changed by the instructor, in “Guided tutorial” type assignments you are allowed to submit your solutions after deadline, and you are able to see the score of each exercises immediately after submitting.

Assessment (multiple or once)

The default settings are set up as the following:

  • Mode is “Solo” (for details see below)

  • Exercise grading scheme  is “Normalized sum”

  • Grading scheme for multiple submission is “Highest Score”

  • Allow reference solution review is "After deadline"

If the settings are not changed by the instructor, in “Assessment” type assignments you aren’t allowed to submit your solutions after deadline. In multiple, your instructor decides the number of submissions and you are able to see the score of each exercises immediately after submitting. In once, number of submissions is automatically set up as “1”, and you can only see your scores after the deadline.

Custom type (can have different names)

Settings are customized by your instructor.

REMARK:

Please note that the type of an assignment in your course might be as one of the precedings, however it does not mean that it will be set as described. These settings as described above can be changed by your instructor during the assignment configuration.

For example, you might have a "Practice" type assignment where you can only see the reference solutions after deadline instead "after one submission".
