If I want to point out something to a particular student, can I initiate a comment on his/her work? Print

Yes. Just click on the speech bubble located on the right hand panel:

A messaging window opens up on the right side of the solution page. Once you type your comment and send it, the student gets notified through his/her email about your message according to the time interval he/she selected, such as "right away", "every six hours", "daily' etc.
