Enrolling students with a list (csv. file)

To enroll students in a stand-alone Gradarius course for the first time, please follow the steps listed below. 

  • Click on the name course you want to add students to from your 'Courses' page.

  • Click on the “Enroll Students” from “Options” menu on the upper right side of the page. 

                                       

  •  Add a CSV file of the class roster. You can save Excel spreadsheets in this format. If any students need to be added later, be sure they are added to this spreadsheet, then the whole file is uploaded. If you have added students to this course before, make sure to use a spreadsheet in the same format you used the first time. Changing the format can result in students being dropped. The layout should be: 

  • That is;
    • First column: LAST NAME,
    • Second column: FIRST NAME
    • Third column: EMAIL
    • Fourth column: SECTION 

Remark: Please make sure to write the section names exactly the way they appear in your Gradarius course such as Section 1, Section 2 ... or A, B, ... or Section 01, Section 02, ... etc. You can find about your section names in your Gradarius course by going into the "Sections" after selecting the course from your "Course" page.

Additionally include all students in a single csv. file. DO NOT try to upload students from different sections as separate files. 

  • If the format has changed and you can't remember what it was, use the "Export results" option to download a spreadsheet in the same format. Then you can add new students to this spreadsheet and upload using the Enroll students option.

Now you can send invitations to your students in the course using the "send Invites" in the "Options" menu.



REMARK: If you like to add instructors to your course or change instructors' name,  please contact your U-admin. Note that your U-admin can also enroll students to your course, just provide your class roster as a .csv file as shown above. 


Note that you can use the attached file as a template.



Enrolling students one at a time

If you need to enroll students one at a time (after the first enrollment) please follow the steps described below. 

  • Go to the "Options" menu (located on the right-had side of the page) after selecting the course you like to add students to, then select "Add student

  • Enter the student information such as " First name, Last name, Email and Section" into the pop-up window.
  • Note that you can turn "Additional Properties" to "on" to be able to enter some more information such as "Canvas Id" and/or "SIS user Id" of the student to the system 


  • Finally hit "Ok". You will see a window as shown below. Select "Now" in order to invite the student to the course right away, otherwise select "Later".
